Q: What kind of game is One Piece Treasure Cruise?

One Piece Treasure Cruise (OPTC) is a Tap RPG (Role-Playing Game) that is based on the One Piece World. Collect One Piece characters throughout the game to help complete missions, stories, and raid bosses!

Q: Is this Character Good?

There are many characteristics for each Character that you should take into account to measure their usefulness. Here are some that we have listed below: Stats, Type, Class, Captain Ability, and Special.

Stats Notes
HP Hit Points or Health: How much damage you can take before dying
ATK Attack: The number that will be affected by damage multipliers
RCV Recovery: How much you heal using Meat or recovery skills
Cost Cost: Determines if you can use a Character on your team
CMB Combo: The amount of hits that a Character lands on the enemy

The main stats that are usually used to measure a Character's worth is the HP and ATK of the unit. RCV is also a good stat, but, because Recovery is based on the chance of a Meat orb appearing, it's not as reliable as the HP and ATK stats. RCV is still useful for units that have a Special or Captain Ability that uses the RCV stat. Check out the stats of your units using the Sortable Character Table:
http://op-tc-eng-version.blogspot.com.au/p/characters.html

Type Name Notes
Strength [STR] 2x damage to and 0.5x damage to
Dexterity [DEX] 2x damage to and 0.5x damage to
Quick [QCK] 2x damage to and 0.5x damage to
Psychic [PSY] 2x damage to
Intelligence [INT] 2x damage to

The Type of your unit is important as there will be Fortnights that can only be run with a certain type of Character. Use Characters with Type Advantage over enemies to make your runs easier. It is a good idea to have a Crew for each of these Types ready at your disposal.

Class Name Notes
Fighter Decent, won't see too much use
Slasher Excellent, will see a lot of use
Striker Good, will see moderate use
Shooter Decent, won't see too much use

Class Specific Crews (where the Captain Ability boosts a specific Class) are better than Type Specific Crews in that you are not restricted to using one Type. Some Islands will have a variety of enemies with different Types so using only one Type will be troublesome. In the future, there will be Fortnights that greatly reduce the stats of all Characters that are of certain Classes, so make sure you have a variety of Characters from every Class to be ready.

Captain Ability Notes
3x ATK when HP>99% Risky, useful for Turtle Times and burst teams
3x ATK when HP<30% Risky, huge damage output
Conditional ATK boost Depends on multiplier, high damage output
Chain Multiplier First few units weak, high damage output
2.5 ATK Top Tier ATK boost, stable high damage output
2x ATK and HP Useful to Tank against bosses, decent damage
2x ATK and RCV High recovery, decent damage
2x ATK Decent damage

Generally, for damage boosting Captains, everything above "2x ATK and RCV" on the list are ideal Captain choices.

Captain Ability Notes
Damage Reduction Useful if +80% Damage Reduction to beat some Raids
Heal HP every turn Useful if paired with Zombie teams or Damage Reducers
Survive if HP>% Zombie team, Useful to beat some Raids

Generally, these Captain Abilities will only be used in situations where you are not strong enough to use damage boosting Captains to beat certain bosses.

Specials Notes
ATK Boost Useful for almost all Crews, Needed for Burst Teams (1.5x-2x)
Damage (%) Useful for almost all Crews (30% of enemies' current HP)
Damage (Fixed) Good against units with high defense like Turtles
Damage (Normal) Decent to clear weak mobs
Damage Nullification Useful against bosses that do very high damage (100%)
Damage Reduction Useful against bosses that do high damage (50%-90%)
Healing Decent for teams that need a quick heal
Meat Manipulation Decent for a quick heal or for Orb Manipulation
Orb Boost Useful for almost all Crews, Needed for Burst Teams (1.5x-2x)
Orb Lock Good for teams with poor Orb Manipulation
Orb Manipulation Useful for almost all Crews
Orb Occurrence Good for Single Type Crews
Orb Randomization Decent to use with Orb Occurrence
Orb Switch Decent for Crews that have different Types
Poison Good against units with high defense
Reduction (Bind) Good against enemies that Bind
Reduction (Defense) Good against enemies with High Defense (50%-100%)
Reduction (Gloom) Good against enemies that Gloom
Turn Delay Useful for almost all Crews
Zombie Decent for teams that need low HP

Generally, you want to try to keep the Characters with "Useful" and "Good" Specials.

Q. What is a "Reroll"?

Rerolling is the process of deleting the data files of this game to start at the beginning of the game and, hopefully, get very good units from the Rare Recruits to start the game with. This is generally done during Sugo-Fests to get a 6* unit.

For more information, go to this Link: Reroll Guide

Q. Should I "Reroll"?

That depends on you. If anything on the list below describes you, consider rerolling:

  • There's a certain One Piece Character that I want to have without spending.
  • I want to have the best possible start for this game to make it easier.
  • I already have an account, but it's been getting difficult.
  • I already have an account, and I haven't pulled any 6*'s or Gear 3 Luffy.

For more information, go to this Link: Reroll Guide

Q. What is a Sugo-Fest?

A Sugo-Fest (aka Sugo or Sugofest) is a 24-hour Rare Recruit event that increases the rates of certain units AND gives the chance to get a 6* unit (aka Gods or Legends) from Rare Recruits. Outside of Sugo-fests, you are not able to pull any 6* units so it is suggested to save your pulls for such events.

For more information, go to this Link: Sugo-Fests

Q. When is the next Sugo-Fest?

Wait until Bandai announces it. You can also use the list of past Sugo-Fests to estimate the date of the next one.

For more information, go to this Link: Sugo-Fests

Q. When is the next New Raid Boss?

For past "New Raid Bosses", Global followed closely to the JP version of this game for the times that New Raid Bosses would appear. Now that Zephyr's appearance has been delay for a little over a month now, we're at a point where we cannot predict a date for the next New Raid Boss. Wait until Bandai announces it.

Q. What Ship should I max?

Merry Go. Why? Merry is the only boat that you get in the "East Blue" that will give an ATK boost after you Upgrade her.

For more information, go to this Link: Boat/Ship

Q. Which form should I evolve the Straw Hats into?

The Straw Hats that you get from beating certain Story Islands have more than one Evolution path. You can see all of the options by going to their respective evolution pages and swiping the Evolution Material Section to the left or right.

For Zoro/Sanji, either path is fine, but the path that only requires two Evolution Material would be slightly easier because you don't have to level them as much.

For Usopp, evolve him into the three Evolution Material Version (Usopp Golden Pound) and keep him in that form. The reason that he is kept in this form is because he has a shorter cooldown than Sogeking (his last form). This difference in cooldown will determine if you win or lose your fight.

For Nami, evolve her into the three Evolution Material Version (Nami Mirage Tempo) and keep her in that form. The reason that she is kept in this form is because this version of her has a better special. The other forms are lackluster and will be thrown aside, but Mirage Tempo will find use in a good bit of situations.

For Chopper, choose whichever form you like most. Brain Point and Guard Point have the most usability, but the other forms have pretty decent stats as subs for their respective colors.

Q. Where is the best place for leveling up my Characters?

In the "Extra Isle" Map,
